ARUNASISH ROY, FONDLY KNOWN AS THE PRINCE OF GHAZAL, IS AN INTERNATIONALLY ACCLAIMED SINGER, COMPOSER, POET, AND PERFORMER RENOWNED FOR HIS SOULFUL GHAZALS AND LIGHT CLASSICAL REPERTOIRE. WITH A CAREER SPANNING PRESTIGIOUS STAGES ACROSS INDIA AND ABROAD—INCLUDING ENGLAND, GERMANY AND UAE—HE HAS EARNED WIDE RECOGNITION FOR HIS REFINED ARTISTRY AND EMOTIVE PERFORMANCES.

HE HOLDS THE DISTINCTION OF BEING THE ONLY ARTIST FROM WEST BENGAL TO PERFORM AT THE CELEBRATED JAGJIT SINGH MUSIC FESTIVAL IN MUMBAI. HIS ACCOLADES INCLUDE A NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP FROM THE MINISTRY OF CULTURE FOR GHAZAL AND A 2ND POSITION IN THE ALL-INDIA RADIO COMPETITION IN THE LIGHT CLASSICAL GENRE. IN 2025, ARUNASISH MENTORED THE ENTIRE CHOIR TEAM OF SHREYA GHOSHAL FOR THE IPL OPENING CEREMONY AT EDEN GARDENS. A LEADING MUSIC DIRECTOR AND LYRICIST, HE HAS COLLABORATED WITH EMINENT ARTISTS SUCH AS PADMASREE ANUP JALOTA, PADMASREE SURESH WADKAR, BISDUSI HAIMANTI SUKLA, SHRI NACHIKETA CHAKRABORTY, SHRI SRIKANTO ACHARYA, AND SMT SUBHAMITA BANERJEE AND SMT LOPAMUDRA MITRA AND HAS WORKED ACROSS MAJOR TELEVISION PLATFORMS. EARLY LIFE & MUSICAL TRAINING

Born into a musical family in West Bengal, Arunasish Roy received his initial training in Hindustani Classical Music from his father, Sri Basudev Roy. Over the years, he expanded his repertoire by studying Ghazal, Thumri, Dadra, Bhajan, Nazrul Geeti, Rabindra Sangeet, and modern Bengali songs under eminent gurus. He completed his Master’s degree in Music Theory and Composition from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata, graduating with top honors
